Plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) are the promising solution to the anxiety about driving distance of electric vehicles. However, large battery of PHEV could compress cabin space. The high input/output performance of SCiB™ makes it possible to reduce the size and weight of a battery system. Therefore, SCiB™ does not restrict the available cabin space and driving performance. In addition, PHEV with SCiB™ is rapidly rechargeable.

Small battery with full performance

Plug-in hybrid vehicles are designed to drive with an electric motor in urban areas and with a combustion engine when they derive highways for a long-distance travel. Even with low voltage and small battery pack, SCiB™ will provide sufficient electric power to drive a vehicle in urban areas. In addition, PHEV with SCiB™ can be recharged in a short period of time.
