    The electric buses are operating in Hannover and Hamburg (Germany), Barcelona (Spain), and Tampere (Finland), etc. and are contributing to zero-emission urban transportation.

    SCiB™ has been adopted by Proterra for its fast charge electric transit bus in the US.

    Proterra has adopted SCiB™ for its re-designed fast charge electric transit bus.
    Proterra EV buses have been put into service in 11 US states, such as California which has some of the most stringent environmental regulations. The rapid charging capability of SCiB™ batteries has minimized the size of the batteries and reduced the overall vehicle weight. Proterra's "zero-emission" EV buses are making a great contribution towards environmental improvement goals.

  • Kawasaki Tsurumi Rinko Bus Co., Ltd.

    An electric bus services a route between Kawasaki Station and the Kawasaki Municipal Hospital.

    Sponsored by the 2012 Electric Vehicle-Based Green Regional Transportation Project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the city of Kawasaki, Kawasaki Tsurumi Rinko Bus Co., Ltd. has been operating an electric bus between Kawasaki Station and the Kawasaki Municipal Hospital since March 30, 2015 The bus makes fifteen 2.4-km round trips every day between the station and the hospital to transport people to and from the hospital. It serves as a leading example of the public transportation system that Kawasaki is aiming to deploy as part of a smart city project for the future.

    An electric bus services a route between Miyako Station and Jodogahama, located in a national park.

    Sponsored by the 2012 Electric Vehicle-Based Green Regional Transportation Project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Northern Iwate Transportation Inc. has been operating an electric bus between Miyako Station and Jodogahama, located in a national park, since December 26, 2012. The bus makes four 12-km round trips every day between Miyako Station and Jodogahama. Jodogahama is one of the major sightseeing spots in the Sanriku Fukko (reconstruction) National Park. The electric bus service not only takes environmental concerns into account but also enhances the value of Jodogahama as a tourism resource, contributing to the rehabilitation of earthquake-stricken Miyako and the promotion of local tourism.

  • Field Testing Medium-sized EV Bus with Wirelessly Rechargeable SCiB™ Lithium-ion Battery

    To verify the convenience and practicality of contactless charging, along with its contribution to reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions

    The contactless charger was designed in collaboration with Professor Yushi Kamiya's laboratory of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Waseda University, as a project commissioned by Ministry of Environment under its Low Carbon Technology Research and Development program. The Medium-sized EV bus driving test started at May 2016, and the bus operation has been available to ANA group employees since June.

  • Super Quick Charge-Electric Buses Enter Service in Malaysia

    SCiB™ is used in the PUTRA NEDO EV BUS PROJECT.
    The project is verified the operating performance of Super Quick Charge electric bus systems in a tropical climate and the operating life characteristics of the battery.
    Term : Five years, from February 2015 to February 2020 (including planning and preparation)

    SCiB™ has been adopted by Hino Profia Hybrid

    SCiB™ has been adopted for the battery installed in Hino Motors, Ltd.'s "Hino Profia Hybrid". Hino Profia Hybrid is Hino's latest heavy-duty truck equipped with a hybrid system that uses large kinetic energy harvested during deceleration especially on downward slope to charge the battery. The truck uses the charged energy for an electric motor to drive it at a constant speed on flat grounds and to assist a gasoline engine on climbing slope to reduce fuel consumption.

    SCiB™ has contributed to enhance fuel efficiency.
